Donald Lubowicki and Jeffery Downey are two boys from Detroit who worked their entire lives in the restaurant industry. They have worked in every position from back of the house to the front, both of whom had a dream of one day owning their own restaurant. They spread their wings and flew down to Savannah to work as waiters in some of the best local establishments to save enough money to make their dream a reality. They love and embraced Savannah. They knew that this was the place where they wanted to plant their feet and make it their home. In 2007 their dream came true and Circa 1875 was born. They opened Circa 1875 solely as a pub at first. They created a warm friendly environment that made it a very popular destination. Capitalizing on their hard work and success, Donald and Jeffery took the revenue produced over the next two years and saved enough to purchase the parcel next door to the pub. This allowed them the space they needed to complete their vision and create an unpretentious Parisian Bistro with a Gastro Pub. A place where one can enjoy delicious French cuisine served with excellence in an authentic old world bistro setting. The beautiful design of space, the eye of detail and the gorgeous decor are all second to none. The talent these two bring to the table is the reason Circa 1875 would quickly become one of the top restaurants in Savannah and hold true to their values for years to come.
